Sun Toyota Green Facility Nearing Completion

Sun Toyota, a leading Toyota dealership in New Port Richey, Florida, is proud to announce that construction of their new LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) dealership location in Holiday, Florida is almost complete!   Sun Toyota anticipates a 2011 Labor Day move in date, with a grand opening planned for early October.  The new facility will be offering cutting edge green features such as solar panels, recycled concrete walls and floors, power energy efficient lighting, an oil change bay that recycles oil and sells it back to recycling firms and an irrigation system that will utilize natural rain water.  Also, glass walls that can sustain up to 140 mph winds, will also help to insulate the building and reduce costs by blocking much of Florida’s sun rays.  

The new dealership, located at U.S. 19 and Gulf Trace Boulevard, will cater to new car sales, finance and service, while the current New Port Richey location will specialize in used cars.  The new dealership building reflects the energy efficiency emphasis of the Japanese parent company and is designed to meet standards mandated by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Additionally, the dealership will also focus on reducing the use of paper as they have installed a Docupay system whereby customers can electronically “sign” sales documents; which will then be e-mailed to buyers, eliminating the need to print on paper.  As global warming is becoming a major concern these days, many auto makers are also now concentrating on going green.  Sun Toyota will be among the first 10 of 100 certified LEED dealers anticipated by Toyota corporate.
