Get ready for the 2012 Music on the Beach Concert Series
Be it the latest LEED facility or the attractive online specials, Sun Toyota, a leading Toyota dealership in Holiday, FL, has always stood out from the crowd. This time the dealership is elated to once again help sponsor the 2012 Music on the Beach concert series.
If you are in Tarpon Springs, Florida and surrounding areas, you can’t miss the free festivities that the Music on the Beach concert series offers. The event’s 13th season kicks off today, Thursday, February 16, 2012 and continues monthly until November 8. Even if you’re not close to Tarpon Springs, a drive to Sunset Beach is certainly worth the effort to enjoy the awesome lineup of bands belting out great classic rock music.
Presented by Friends of Music on the Beach, the Tarpon Springs Recreation Department and sponsored by Sun Toyota, this year’s concert offers a little something for everyone, says Len Gravitz, a Friends board member and one of the event's original founders.
Tonight’s event begins with the classic rock band, Time Bandits, from 7 to 9 p.m. along with a beach bonfire and an area set aside for roasting marshmallows. The next act will be performed by Evergreen, a newcomer to this venue, who will be performing a selection of Irish tunes in March. Other performances that are lined up this season include Tarpon Springs High Jazz Band and longtime crowd favorite, De Lei'd Parrots, dishing up a little Cheeseburger in Paradise, of course.
Gravitz mentioned that each concert is attended by as many as 1,000 people. However, if you are concerned about parking problems, not to worry – there will be free shuttle service starting at 6:15 p.m. from the parking lot at Tarpon Springs High School for each concert.
To further enjoy these great outdoor concerts, guests are encouraged to bring along a picnic dinner (no alcohol, nor tents), or you can purchase hot dogs and beverages from on-site food vendors. A few covered shelters are available on a first come, first serve basis. However, you can also lay out a blanket or set up your own lawn chairs and portable tables in the sand, sit back, relax, and enjoy a sunset serenade on the beach.

Sun Toyota and Gulf Trace Elementary – A Green Friendship
Gulf Trace Elementary school is not only located within a few block of Sun Toyota, but the two neighbors have a lot in common.
The two neighbors have a very strong philosophical connection as both of them are seriously concerned about the environment and strongly believe in making a change in their surroundings. While the students at Gulf Trace Elementary have secured a silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for the steps it has taken to protect the environment, the Toyota dealership is going for gold LEED.
Students at Gulf Trace Elementary school are taught about the important role of nature and what can be done to reduce or reverse damage to the environment. Hands on approaches are used to demonstrate the relationship between individual action and the larger world.
Hope Schooler, principal at Gulf Trace, says that Sun Toyota has been very supportive towards the school and its mission. She mentioned, “We try to make sure the students know how to do everything in their power to save the environment and to keep themselves healthy too.” She further added that they receive support from the dealership through its recycling program.
Schooler said that the school is planning to use the funds and credits received from Sun Toyota to purchase technology that will allow it to go paperless, thus saving trees. She mentioned that the most exciting thing is the students can see practical demonstration of methods in a larger world that they are learning about in school. The principal said she looks forward to the day when the students can take a walk around the dealership where they can find how their education can be applied every day. That is the most important lesson.
Sun Toyota, serving the Clearwater, Tampa and Holiday, Florida areas, encourages everyone to follow suit and do whatever you can to “go green” and help conserve our earth’s resources. Everything from turning off lights when not in use, recycling paper, glass and plastic materials, conserving water, to driving an eco-friendly vehicle, like the 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid, will help go a long way in caring for our environment and preserve our planet for generations to come! Toyota Unveils New Plug-In Hybrid Concept and Prius c at 2012 NA Auto Show
Sun Toyota, the leading Toyota dealership in Holiday, Florida, is pleased to announce that Toyota has debuted the NS4, an advanced plug-in hybrid concept vehicle, at the recent 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Toyota engineers were tasked with the challenge of designing a new mid-sized concept car that would be anticipated for global introduction by 2015. Separate from the Pruis family, the NS4 concept, designed with future mobility necessities in mind, is a dedicated plug-in hybrid. As mentioned by Jim Lentz, TMS president and CEO, the “NS4 demonstrates Toyota’s take on the human connection to the car with technology that considers both emotional and rational relationships, person-to-car and car-to-society.”
Also introduced at the auto show was Toyota’s Priuc C hybrid. As the larger Prius V, stands for versatile, the “c” in the new Prius is synonymous with ‘city’; which is just what this new Toyota offers. Lighter in weight, lower in height and a bit shorter in length than its predecessors, the new Prius c is modeled to nimbly maneuver any cityscape with responsive handling. Featuring a 1.5L gas engine and a 144 volt nickel-metal hydrid battery, the c’s hybrid system boasts an output of 99hp. Along with an estimated 53 mpg, it is also regarded with the highest city rate fuel efficiency of any car in the US.

Mother Earth’s New Car – Toyota Prius
Sun Toyota is pleased to introduce Mother Earth’s New Car, the environmentally and economically friendly Toyota Prius. With the changing environment, car buyers are growing more conscious and people are clamoring for hybrids. Being that as it may, Toyota is a natural choice because the car manufacturer is an industry leader in manufacturing such vehicles.
However, Toyota Prius is one such car that deserves special mention. The car boasts 95 percent customer satisfaction and ranks top in fuel efficiency. The car has also received IntelliChoice’s Best Overall Value of the Year award after competing with nearly 1,800 2011 models. In April 2011, Toyota announced 1 million cars had been sold in the US, while 3 million were sold worldwide, with the Prius hitting the maximum sales record. Toyota Prius, clearing a leading hybrid car so far, the company estimates it has saved 881 million gallons of gas and 12.4 million tons of carbon dioxide emission in US alone in its 11 years of existence.
Environment friendly is not the only plus point for Prius. The car woos its owners with sleek styling, advanced safety features, comfort, and an estimated mileage of 51 mpg in the city, 48 on the highway. The price starts at $23,500 which is pretty decent and the car easily holds five, has countless style options. Talking about technology, Prius tops the chart. The advanced navigation option is available with a rearview backup camera and parking assist mode that actually parks the vehicle without the driver having to steer. As an added bonus, certain models have a solar roof package that helps the car to cool the interior when the car is parked. No wonder this car is loved by all who care for Mother Earth!
